Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the third-party company that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies the result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view timestamps
- The referring website, when one is available
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help reveal broad traffic patterns, such as which pages receive visits and where users leave. Analytics providers combine those measurements for us. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Operating the site and improving page speed
- Measuring which information visitors use
- Forwarding a query to the selected search partner
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site identifies the official custodians of Medina County material, including the sheriff, local clerks, Texas DPS, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal records.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a tool falls under that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before running a query because we do not control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Medina County offices, Texas agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search tools. Once you leave, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure performance and traffic
- Advertising networks that serve material on the pages
- Search companies that process a query you submit
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard safeguards for information in our care. No internet-connected system is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor provided such information, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on residence and the law that applies, you may have rights concerning personal data. Texas Government Code sections 411.083 and 411.135 govern access to state criminal-history information, while the Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552 governs public records held by Texas government. You may ask to:
- Opt out of certain forms of processing when the law provides that choice
- Delete qualifying personal data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Obtain a copy of qualifying information kept about you
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date, so review this page periodically for changes.
